Thermage

How does Thermage work?

Collagen is the building block that provides skin structure. Thermage uses targeted radiofrequency energy to heat deeper dermis layers of the skin to contract collagen proteins and stimulate further collagen production. At the same time, it has an integrated cooling system, where the tip of the Thermage handpiece vibrates and cools the skin’s surface to aid in patient comfort.

Treatment time: 30-90 minutes

Thermage FAQ

When will I see results from my Thermage treatment?

You may experience immediate results that will continue to improve over the next one to six months. Most patients experience optimal results by the six-month mark.

How long do Thermage effects last?

Thermage results can last between 1-2 years. After one treatment, the body continues to produce new collagen for six months.

How many times do you need Thermage treatment?

Most patients require only one treatment session. However, some patients can opt to do two or three more treatments, approximately six months apart, for even better results.

What age should you start Thermage?

Generally, Thermage treatments are recommended for patients with mild to moderate skin laxity, usually between 30-60 years old. However, it is possible for younger patients to undergo Thermage treatment as a preventative measure by maximising their collagen production.

Are there any side effects to Thermage?

Right after the treatment, you may experience minor redness and swelling. This is normal and will subside within 24 hours. You may return to your daily activities following the treatment.

Can Thermage be combined with other treatments?

Yes, Thermage can be combined with other treatments, depending on your desired outcome.

Machines: Thermage can be combined with Ultherapy to treat different layers of the skin to treat various signs of ageing and lift sagging skin.

At Cambridge Medical Group, we offer a Duo-Facelift Programme, aimed to provide a holistic anti-ageing treatment for an overall lifted and V-shaped face. The treatments can be done on the same day or one month apart.

Injectables: Thermage can also be combined with injectables, such as BTX injections, Profhilo and dermal fillers, to smoothen skin and create a youthful appearance.
