At Cambridge, we use the Quadrostar Pro Yellow Laser to effectively treat spider veins. The Pro Yellow Laser is a German-manufactured laser. It’s an improved version of the commonly used Dual Yellow/ Combination laser that is very commonly used amongst aesthetic doctors.

The Quadrostar Pro Yellow Laser has a specific wavelength (577nm) which makes it particularly useful for vascular treatments and epidermal pigmentation treatments.

Quadrostar Pro Yellow Laser for Spider Veins Treatment

The Quadrostar Pro Yellow Laser is ideal for treating spider veins as it is very effective at treating conditions regarding capillaries. It can do this by shrinking the blood vessels using its specific wavelength of yellow light, while leaving the capillaries unharmed.

The specific wavelength of the yellow light that the Quadrostar Pro Yellow Laser uses has a higher rate of absorption by red blood cells when compared to other lasers. This will result in a swift reduction of the appearance of spider veins on the skin.

Compared to the standard green wavelength (532nm), the yellow wavelength is able to produce 40% higher absorption in blood.

Yellow laser (577nm) penetrates deeper than standard green lasers (532nm), simultaneously addressing both visible lesions and underlying vessels.

How is the Spider Vein Treatment done?

Each treatment sessions lasts around 45 minutes, including preparation time. The laser also has an in-built skin-cooling mechanism that increases safety and comfort during treatment.

The Pro Yellow Laser does not require as much energy as the other lasers, thus, treatments are much more comfortable. No numbing cream is needed. You may, however, feel a tingling sensation.

How many treatment sessions do I need for Spider Veins?

For vascular or pigmented lesions, significant results can be seen in 1-2 treatments. For the appearance of spider veins, you will require anywhere between 4-6 treatments with around 3 weeks in between each session to fully clear the condition.

After a session of the Quadrostar Pro Yellow Laser, the patient’s facial skin might be slightly sensitive and appear a little flushed. However, there is no real downtime and the patient can resume daily activities immediately after.
